Want to purchase something I can move around the house/chuck in a suitcase when i go on holiday etc. Best one I think I've seen so far is the Sony SRS-X55. Is there anything else that would be better in terms of sound quality? A big bonus for the Sony for me was the fact it had an actual sub where as others in this range don't seem to. This makes a big difference for me as I enjoy lots of bassy music :)

Hi did you buy something yet?

I've just purchased the Sony SRS-X55 online, picking up at the weekend. I'm in the same boat - want something for the garden & going on holiday with, might even use as a speaker for my phone's radio alarm if its any good. I'll let you know what it's like.

I tried the SRS-X5 (the model before) in a shop today and it sounded "good" with plenty of decent bass, but there was nothing better in the shop to compare against. Apparently the new SRS-X55 has improved sound quality and has very good reviews, so I'm hopeful.

There was a UE Boom Box and a JBL quite cheap, but both lacked power and just sounded weak.

Or there is the Bose Soundlink III - this has good reviews on quality/bass too, but at £250 was too much for me.
I haven't purchased one yet! Ideally I need a comparison with the Bose Soundlink Mini as this seems to have really good reviews everywhere.
