Im currently with tiscali, and personally there terrible. Customer support is usless, download speeds are cack and im getting disconnected all the time. I have my MAC code to hand, now which ISP should i hand it too !

Thanks.

Very subjective question.

Virgin Media have been great for me, but no doubt somebody else has had a poor experience with them.

As long as you go with one of the mainstream ones and hunt around for a good deal, you should be ok.

I'm with NTL and they are absolutely appalling - phoneline has gone down 3 times in a year, the cable has gone down once, the customer service is rubbish and takes ages on hold to get through to anyone. Download speeds are ****and gets disconnected regularly. The repair man was so stupid he couldn't find out flat, and we are still paying £40 a month for a ****** service without sky channels.

DONT SWEAR

Dangerous

Madasafish have been great for me. I've got a fixed IP and a free upgrade to 8mb with unlimited download capacity.

However if I was a light user I'd probably say sky is the best, as you can get it free.

Depends what you want. For gamers, Eclipse. For your more generic fast connection, Zen. For normal users, whichever is cheapest at the time.

I've had Virgin Media for about a week now... brilliant (20mb package)

hasn't been down once!

I switched from Orange... which were seriously terrible

Good thing about it all was... because Virgin is cable I had 0 downtime!!

Modem took 2 days to arrive after my first call to them, it was activated as soon as i set it up!

I understand if you haven't had cable installed already it takes around a week for a technician to come round and set it all up for you... which is still brilliant! :)

I dont really want to pay more than £20 a month for a 8mb unlimited usage connection.

Not going to happen - you either need to pay more, or accept that you aren't going to get an unlimited service (unless it's "unlimited but you'll only get a few MB a month before we traffic shape you" like Tiscali).
The closest is, as suggested, the Enta resellers.
