Hi all

Just got a nexus 7 and currently it uses chrome for the browser, which is fine, the only issue is the lack of flash, is our forum has YouTube embedding and its annoying having to load YouTube every time to watch something.

Are there any work around or am I stuck with this?

Thanks

Is flash built in to it? Or do I need to download flash prior? I believe I'm running jellybean 4.2 off the top of my head.

Dolphin browser is very good, I usually use it when I need flash, other than that I use Chrome too.

Dolphin doesn't allow me to turn flash on apparently.

ICS apparently doesn't work on jellybean :p :(

I can't understand how Dolphin won't allow you to use flash, my brother has the Nexus 7 and it works for him.

Another good browser is Opera if you want to try that.

It's running Jb 4.2. I install dolphin, go in to the settings, click 'allow flash' as it's disable, then it pops up saying 'flash has been disabled on android devices now so has been disabled on dolphin'. If I browse to a thread with a youtube video displayed, it just doesn't show.

I will give Opera a gander though :)

Boat browser is what I use on my N7 pretty sure flash works once you've turned it on in the settings.

Can't at the minute as I'm at work and the N7 is at home but if you still need me to I'll do it this evening :)

That's cool mate didn't expect it instantly :) I'll install it tonight anyway and see how it goes. I presume you haven't installed Flash separately on to the the N7?

Yep I have, you've got to have the flash apk installed for any of the browsers to be able to use it.

* Firefox has the most desktop features, it is the most capable browser + flash but quite slow.
* Chrome has all the integration and is very fast.
* Dolphin has the best HTML 5 compatibility, nice interface and very fast, there is a way to get flash working even in the latest version, I have managed to accidentally do it once or twice.
* AOSP browser is probably the best around at the moment, it is fast and renders pages much better than chrome, supports flash very well but requires root.

Thanks sky fall, just using chrome at the moment, may look at dolphin again as I doubt I'll be rooting the n7
