Best Budget Compact?

Hi all,

Whats the best budget camera out at the moment.

I have 150quid, would not mind buying second-hand. The IXUS and 'A' models stand out from canon at the moment, good buy?

I have the Canon A610 and it's great. Seems to be a pretty solid mid to high end compact.

My dad has been looking for something simpler than mine, and research suggested the A530. It has slightly fewer features and it's a bit cheaper.

lost my A510 the other day, bought the A530 this morning. powershot are really good cameras. Ive had the A60, A510 and now A530. Was going to get the a540 but i dont think the 1mp increase will be needed and the 2.5" screen will draw more power that the already large 1.8"
