iracing is awful with pad also want to play

cheers in advance

DON'T BUY A CHEAP WHEEL. IF YOU ENJOY RACING GAMES DON'T SKIMP ON THE WHEEL.

Cheap steering wheels are terrible, spend £70 (what I paid) on a Thrustmaster F430 ffb.

i should olf put my budget lol £100 quid... back in the day i had fanatec csr for forza 4 on xbox....

will look into the thrustmaster now buddy cheers

i was looking at the gt 27 however would have to settle for a used unit....

i looked at the Thrustmaster F430 also used with the ferrari stand thing average 70 ish on ebay

DFGT, only niggle no flappy paddles (has buttons), can be easily fixed by buying a kit off that auction site or make your own from a sheet of lexan.

If you can get a G25 or G27 get that, the big improvement over the DFGT and F430 are the pedals, but that's well worth it. I wouldn't be too concerned about going second hand, my G25 is 6 years old now with plenty of use and still going strong, only problem seems to be the pots need cleaning sometimes, although I've never had to personally.

Otherwise the DFGT and F430 are basically the only real options at that price point.

Ooooo, I really want to G27... My fear is, I'll be using it on a stand, are they fairly stable? I have this vision of it wobbling all over the place.

G27 is a great choice, even used (not abused though) as logitech clearly have confidence in their engineering and give it a 3 year warranty (longest of any wheel I believe). I had logi DFP before (some say its internals are identical to its sequel DFGT, I do not know, I did sell it working perfectly after 7 years of service though:)) and difference is HUGE. NOt just the quality of stiff metal pedals and H-shifter, but the wheel itself has miles faster force feedback: you fight it to correct slides with DFP, but it actually helps you with G27 it is that quick. Yes T500 FF is faster still and doesnt merely "help you", but actually does all the spinning for you, but G27 is plenty good enough imo - for drifting, for racing, for anything.

If budget is really tight though, get DFGT, its a big step up from pad or crappy cheapo wheel, just not so great for drifting. Well, at least DFP wasnt :)

I was in the same position a year back. I went for a DFGT in the end, got it second hand and I've never had a problem. Sure its not top end but if your still using it in a years time then upgrade. I think you could buy a nice pedal set and use them with the wheel but don't quote me on that.

I put a squash ball underneath the brake pedal (known as the squash ball mod) which helps.
