Right, to summarise:

I have been laptop based for around 3 years now. I currently use a Rock XtremeCTX Pro with Geforce Go 7950 GTX & 2.0 GHz Core 2 CPU.

After moving last year, I now have a dedicated office for a computer again, so I want a desktop set up.

I looking for suggestions for the best value for money around £1000.00 exc VAT (£1175.00 inc VAT) for the computer on it's own, plus a 24" screen possibly (or smaller if that is likely to be better - suggestions please).

I have been looking at the OcUK pre built units, I used to build my own units but I cant be bothered with it now. I will likely buy a unit from OcUK with Vista pre-installed.

Which version of Vista is the best to go for? I assume I will end up with a quad core CPU.

BTW, I play COD4 mainly, but will invest in some of the future titles like Far Cry 2 etc. I really want a good value unit that I can change the graphics card on at a later date. Again I dont know when the new range of cards are going to be released, if it is soon then I dont want to throw a load of money at a high spec ard now as I will buy the new release when it is available.

Anyway, bit of a ramble, but any suggestions gratefully recieved.

I must admit, I have been reading posts on the forum again, and another self build could be on the cards.

From this point of view, what would people recommend parts wise?

Same budget, however, I am not interested in overclocking. I just want to use it for work and play the odd game on it. I want a good graphics card in it though, looks like I will probably buy a 22" monitor. I had a 24" monitor before but found it to be a bit on the big side for gaming myself. Also the resolution is lower on the 22" monitors, so they are easier to run.
