Hey all,

Just got back from Holidays and had a nice suprise (Thompson Speedtouch 546 V6 had arrived )

Anyway, since I have been stuck on a MAX speed of 1000k and my SNRM has been at 12dB for a while I thought I would do something about it now that I was back!

This morning I hooked it all up and synced normally.. got my usual-highest sync rate of 1440kbps down, 448kbps up (usually varies around 1312-1440 down).

Tweaked the settings (primarily the SNRM slider to force the exchange software to lower my SNRM) via the secret tab in DMT Tool earlier and got these stats:

Now connected at 1952kbps down, 448kbps up!!

Ok, so it might not WOW people on larger speeds, but for me thats an extra 50% speed increase for the price of the modem!

Very happy!!!

I bought a new router bit back my old one could only hit 3 meg speeds but with the netgear one i have now i get 4 meg all the time, well i say bought offerd me sister money for it but she refused :D

It looks like you're on fixed rate 1Mbps, so yes.
On a rate adaptive product, you'd expect to see an increase in sync rate with a reduction in target SNR margin.

Bear in mind that if you're on Max, you'll only go from the 1Mbps to the 1.5Mbps profile.
I know, but that extra 50% was worth the money IMO :)
