Best C&C TS and RA2 mods?

I've been looking for one of the best mods for Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, what would you lot recommend?

One thing annoys me though, i searched and had a look around but have yet to try anything because of the annoying use of custom .exe setup files, why are these so common when it comes to such small sized mods? its annoying and a security issue but i still want to get at the game files, i can't think of many other mods from other games forcing custom made .exe files on us and the ones that do are usually from decent mod teams, is there a good way to get at them?

with RA2 Yuri's revenge, you can nocd patch the exe, then the game becomes portable (ie, you never need to install it again!)

Thanks but i don't have Yuri's Revenge and i was only really concerned with the problem of mods and their custom installs, all i really want are the game files like rules.ini etc so i can do a manual install but thats ok ill sort something out.

So what mods do you lot recommend?

modify the folder by deleting it and installing total annihilation with the Core contingency pack the TAUIP 2.1 pack and the 3.1 patch and dont forgrt the TA demo recorder, all available from funthings.org
