Hi guys,

We're looking at moving our Sky box, DVD player etc etc around to the other side of the room so it will be a good 8-10m away from the TV.

I'd rather not chase the wall out for such a distance if I can help it, so I was looking to run the HDMI cables externally in some galvanised containment, which is fine. However, are there any wireless options open to me?

We'll have Sky Q shortly, plus BluRay, Fire TV stick and Chromecast, so all HDMI.

Thanks,

Mal

Can't you run it behind the skirting board?
Drilling through the house twice seems like needless destruction (to me at least), and who wants to see piping running along the brickwork.

Sorry can't comment on wireless options but seems worth looking into.

from the experience of my customers who buy wireless i only but hear bad things from it, hence why we go in rip the rubbish out and put cables in.
I personally have not installed any wireless hdmi stuff but i would never go down the route, it can open up a can of worms imho.
If you can put conduit in why not? its your house :-P.
But if it was me id allways chase cables in but all depends on room conditions.
Good luck in whatever route you take.

If its a wooden floor you could always pop a few boards and pop them underneath. If not I saw somewhere a skirting board that fits over the existing and has cable routes in it, cannot remember what it was called though.

Use Painted conduit

used it here

PC is in vbottom of bookcase, conduit a long that whole wall you cannot see due to painting the colour of the walls.

mines fairly small & has 2x DP + 2x USB cables in perfectly fine.

like this, then paint it the colour of your wall.
