Best calendar for desktop and Android use for family?

Depends on what you actually want to do with it.
I've got my google calendar showing in windows 10 calendar app along with my android phone and all the alerts etc set up with no issues. I don't use it for anything special but 'it works' both ways so if I add something on windows it syncs with my android phone (assuming it's got data on and auto sync set up... I don't have my wifi/data on all the time).
You can share a google calendar with someone else so might be worth a look if nothing else.

You can do similar with outlook/hotmail iirc too,although you might want a different calendar app for that though on android.

Google calendar.
You could setup a single email for just the calendar that everyone has an account on their device to view it.
Then use the colours to differentiate things.
Works very well for me and my wife across all our phones and computers.
Also it’s instantly transferred to new phones by adding the account during setup.
