As the title says.

Girlfriend needs a camera for work to obviously take photos, nothing too strenuous, just still images, but would also like one that's good enough to use when we go away or somewhere nice.

Brother mentioned bridge cameras but I really have no idea about them so thought I'd be best off asking here!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Honestly £100 is not a lot to go with you'd be looking at a cheap Canon Powershot, Nikon Coolpix in that sort of range.

I don't like them and for the extra bulk vs quality on a £100 camera I'd question if it's worth it over a compact camera (or an iphone for that matter). What does she need it for in work?

Yeah I figured as much but seeing as work are only paying half towards it, she doesn't want to spend too much.

She has to do a blog and uploading pictures is a major part of it.

Cheap point and shoot cameras have been rendered irrelevant with modern phone cameras. The sensor size is barely any bigger (if at all, depending on what phone you have), so you're only paying for optical zoom - which she probably doesn't need. P&S cameras also like to use large megapixel counts to draw in customers - but on low size sensors, this just means worse low light performance.

In fact, her phone would be better suited to this particular job than a cheap P&S just for the ease in uploading images directly from the phone.

With a budget of ~£100, I'd be looking to get a second hand DSLR or Micro Four Thirds setup - otherwise I'd just use my phone. Buying anything new for £100 is just a waste of money.

Seems a bit dodgy that she needs a camera for work, but work are only willing to pay for half of it. If my work did that, I'd tell them to do one!

She would normally use her phone, but her phone is bleeding terrible, camera even worse actually!

She works for the family business, and they tend to take the mick with things like that. That's why she doesn't want to pay too much. We may have to look at some second hand DSLR's.

She saw this, any good?
