Hey guys,

Im after a point and shoot camera with good image quality which is around £100/150.

My main focus is image quality. Dont really need additional features such as video or tripod mounts etc.

Any suggestions?

We've always had good results with my dad's Lumix LX5. At the time it was around 250 but now since the LX7 has come out, you should be able to find an LX5 for around your budget I would think (hope).

Leica made lens at F2, so brilliant image quality. Only downside is its relatively restricted zoom range for a point and shoot 'only' going from (effective) 24mm - 90mm, and again relatively low megapixel count at 10MP (although thats all anyone really can ever need!)

Would highly recommend if you can get your hands on one!

I'm not particularly informed about the compact market, but needed something small but decent for when I want to avoid carrying the DSLR around. On the advice of some users here I bought a Fuji XF1, currently £70 off at £129.

So far, very happy. The sensor isn't too tiny, it's f1.8 at wide angle, and it looks and feels great.

The EXR modes are quite impressive in low light- it halves the megapixel count to 6mp, but gives surprisingly clean images for a compact.

Have to admit I haven't touched the DSLR since I bought it...

This basically, nothing else comes close for the price. I bought 2!

I need to buy a simple camera for my wife to take pics of our toddler indoors (without flash) as her phone camera is not great (moto g)

Will above camera be ok or do I need to pay extra for LX7?
