best camera for around 350?

Hey all... Im an avid phitographer in need of a good camera in this price region. I love photography but have never owned a good spec camera. I was looking at the 500d as it is a very high spec camera. Im after dslr really. I do want to be able to ahoot some video too though if possible. Ideas? Thanks

An alternative to the Canon would be the Nikon D3100 which can be found well within your budget.

Any of the Entry level stuff is decent, You're best looking into the brand and decide which you would prefer to invest into!.
