Hi,

just a quickie for my mate. Looking to spend 100 quid max on a PCI-E graphics card. Wants to play BF2 and games like that.

ATI x1600XT?
Have read that the PRO even with 512mb aint that great?

What about nvidia alternatives?

It really is 100 quid max, so 115 etc wont do

Thanks

how about this:

XFX GeForce 7600 GS Extreme Edition 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT73P-UDS3) (GX-081-XF) £99 inc.VAT

never realy heard anyone's reviews about one but im sure it is a good card for the price, plus it is silent, basically for £100, that would be nvidias equivalent, other than that could be:

XFX GeForce 7600 GS 256MB DDR2 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (PVT73P-UDL3) (GX-080-XF) £88 inc.VAT

Leadtek GeForce 7600 GS SILENT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-082-LT) £88 inc.VAT

it is a shame he can't stretch to an extra £20 because this would also be a very good card for the price:

BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-025-BG) £117 inc.VAT

Well there's the 7600gt for £117 which is a excellent card BUT since you said £100 max, I'd recommend the x1600xt 256mb or gto16:)

then again this looks a very good card for the price:

Sapphire X1600 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-114-SP) £96.29 inc.VAT

if you dig around you can pick up an x850xt for less then 110inc - im shure that that will shift a plenty (what i would buy if i had 100 quid to spend)

Hech he could stick to the budget & get the cheaper & quicker Sapphire X1600 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-114-SP) or go well under & get the even quicker PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 XL 256MB DDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-038-PC) at £82.19 Including VAT its a great price.
