I have about £200 to spend on an upgrade to my msi 660 twin frozr.

What would give the best bang per buck? I only game at 1080p.

Two of them would. But then again, if you're OK with two cheap cards you might as well just get another 660.

Is there any chance of saving for a bit longer for a 280X? Otherwise you're looking at a 270X or a 760.

I can only do a single card as it's going in a HTPC - SG06

I might be able to stretch to about £250 .... So might be able to squeeze in a 280x

You reckon a 280x over 770

Just to give you an idea of some of the deals you can get If you shop around I ended up paying sub £200 for my direct cu II 7970 in September after selling the games on

Yea not sure if the extra 1gb will really be important at 1080p!

Battlefield 4 might respectfully disagree with you on that ;)

2gb VRAM is not a deal-breaker at the moment, but as the two cards will give you similar performance at a similar price, it's one way to differentiate them.

Speaking of BF4: which games do you play? Could be relevant to your decision.

Well currently playing Tomb Raider, Hitman, Splinter Cell ... So those types of games.

I've only just got BF4 ...so trying to get into it....I don't play too many FPS usually

If BF5 comes out next year you can fairly say it's going to marginalise 2GB cards at higher settings, so if you're looking for the card to last more than a year the extra 1GB is not bad considering the 770 is the same price if not more. If you are way more comfortable with a NVIDIA card then the 770 is no slouch though. You could SLI that 660 for £100 less and still better a 770 if the rest of your system is up to scratch.

You just think a 270X is not that far off a 660 (pretty much identical performance) to say if you can SLI it, go and get a proper upgrade and be knocking on the door of a stock Titan/780 in games that scale.
