Which is the best card you can get for around £350?
Is it worth spending this much on a new card?
I am upgrading from a HD 4870 but can't decide between the GTX 560 Ti/570/580 and the HD 6950/6970.
I've checked all the benchmarks and reviews I can find but I'm more clueless now than I was before.

Also, which brand of cards are best? Asus, Sapphire, Gigabyte etc..

I want to run games at 1920 x 1200 maximum settings on a single screen. I have no interest in Sli.

A little more than £350, but if your motherboard can support crossfire, 2 6950's would be great, especially if you get the revision 1 reference cards where the shaders can be unlocked to 6970 levels.

If you want a single card, the GTX580 is a very fast card too, but will be beaten by crossfired 6950s.

Couldn't comment on which is the best brand, I run 2 ASUS models, but they're probably all much the same.

Grab a single sub 200 pound GPU now and then sell that and get an AMD 7XXX card when they come out within the next 3 months. Either that or stick with the 4870 until the new cards come out, that'd be what I'd do if I wanted to by now. If you want to splurge now then do what was said above.

Thanks, I have an Asus P8P67 (standard) board, an XFX 750w PSU and an i5 2500k CPU.
I have no interest in running crossfire. As long as 1 card can do all I need it to do for the next few years then I'm happy.
