Hi dudes,
What is the best card (agp) i can get for around £40.
It has to be agp though - its for my spare system and also will it have better performance than a sapphire radeon 9800pro? is it likely to be able to get a card for that price which is better than the 9800? the reason being if it is then I will put it in my sisters machine and use the radeon for the spare.

as always,
Thanks for any replies

Hi

you could get the HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon 9550 256Mb but it will not as good as a 9800 and that card is £35

if you wan t a card that is better then 9800 that is agp and that is cheap then get something like a HIS ATI Radeon X1300 ICEQ TURBO but that is a bit over your buget tho its £66

i got a 6800le from the members market that unlocked to 12/6 and cost me £40 so best place to check would be the members market. good deals on there.

Once you have 250+ posts, and been here for more than 90 days, then you activate your trust, then about a day later you get access to the MM. :)

90 days seems kind of long but I totally understand why that policy is in effect. I'm just impatient because I have loads of forum experience and have made hundreds of sales/purchases online!

still have a few months left i think :(

Interesting, I've been here since Nov 05, and have made 101 posts, you've been here Sep 06, and have made over 400.

Each to there own I suppose, I tend to "listen" more than "speak" :D

I do both...I participate in many forums....I answer and ask lots of questions and never fail to learn many things every day on them.

any1 know what the best pci-e card for £40 is?, i was thinking of getting one of BFG 7300gs, which are on ocuk, but i was wondering, are these cards any good and how loud are they? My pc is already loud enough!!!

thanks a lot,

edit: mainly using for cs:s at a widescreen res.

If you can stretch the buget to around £60 i'd suggest the 7300gt ddr3 they are awsome little cards for the price.

I would say a 6600gt is faster than any 7300 GT and definitly faster than a 7300GS. I would do some googling to be certain though.

i hate how companies reallllllllllllllllllllllllllly screw up their numbers, i mean, what ever happened to the biggest number = best card????????

p.s. how does a x800gt preform? comapred to the above cards?

VERY wrong, my 7300gt is a lot faster than the 6600gt i had, my 7300gt scores 2800 in 3d06 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=405631 can't find many single 6600gts that come close to that in the orb.

It will probably chew them up and spit them out, anything under an 850xtpe and an overclocked 7300gt ddr3 will see them off and then it will give the 850 a run for its money. Well mine does anyway, its running 600core / 800mem. Check the piccys out below that's my 7300gt sytem against a random 850xtpe system running a slightly faster cpu.
