Best card for £50

Hey guys I need to order a card for my bros computer tonight. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. He's upgrading from an X600 I think, so anything's gonna be a vast improvement. I was looking at the 256MB X1950 pro cards, but the prices seem to have shot up in the last few weeks, and I can't find any for £50. I don't wanna go second-hand, but I'm open to any other suggestions.

2600 Pro 512MB or 7600GT 256MB are the best sub £50 cards I can find, 8600GT is you stretch a few quid more to just under £60.

it's PCI-e. Yeah the 2600 looks pretty badass, if I was to go down that route would I be better off getting the 512MB DDR2 2600 pro, or the 256MB GDDR3 2600 XT. When I say better off I mean bang for buck.

My bro's just needs a fairly standard graphics card to deal with games like the Witcher, NWN 2 etc. He only games at 1024x768

Does it have to be right now? The forthcoming Radeon 3600 series cards look quite interesting but not sure when they're out.

bang for buck the xt is better high clocks speeds and the gddr3 reallyt helps even thogh is only 256mb. but at res it will be used at 256 is plenty.
