Hi, first post here so be gentle :)

My current graphics card (7900gt) is experiencing some problems so i have decided to get a new grpahics card.

My budget is around £200 - i can stretch to about £230 is needed and was wondering what is the best PCI express card i can get for that money?.

Thanks in advance

Probally a 8800GTS 320mb for £200
Can push it to a 640mb which help later on which £235.
Or a 2900xt 512mb is also a very good card which is £220.

yeah both the 8800gts and the 2900xt were ones i was looking at.

i am looking for a stable card this time round as i have had a lot of problems with my 7900gt from the start and want one that i can just plug in and pretty much forget about and have it last me longer than my current one

If you opt for the HD2900XT, make sure your PSU can handle it (probably better to check if your PSU can handle a 8800 even).

A good quality 450watt PSU should be fine.

If your unsure just tell us what PSU it is and we'll tell you what we think.

Def go for the GTS 320mb or if ya can scrape a few more quid together get the GTS 640mb version..

The extra memory will be better for some of the new upcoming games..

Thanks for the replies.

I ended up going for:

Leadtek GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI

and also got:

OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply
for some extra power

Went and picked it up this morning from overclockers, so heres hoping for a nice trouble free and smooth gameplay :)
