Need a GPU for a new gaming PC for one of the kids. Budget has to come in under £400. What's best bang for buck at this price range? After a little research I'm thinking 7700XT is the option to go for, but happy to be proved wrong. Monitor is a 34" ultra widescreen, so 3440x1440 resolution.

I managed to pick up a new 7700 XT a little while ago for £300. It might be worth just holding off given it seems like announcements are due very shortly for new cards though.

Can't seem to find anything near £300 now, most are closer to, or exceed the £400 mark!

Depends what you want. 6800 ~ 7700xt not much in it. 6800 is at least £30 less and within your budget too. But like others have said we are so close to new launches, and with xmas you might not even get a new card until after now. And then it's what, a few days till some announcements.

I feel like I'm always recommending this but... if you're happy with B grade and the warranty then there are plenty of decent cards on OCUK, 6800, 6800xt, 7800xt, 4070...

Ignore the prices as they're usually original price so see what the cards are going for 2nd hand and make an offer.

The 7800xt for £420 is the one to go for imo but if £300 is your preference then the 6750xt is an option.
I can't seem to find the 7800XT for £420? £439 is the cheapest, my Google Fu is letting me down... £400 is really the high end of the budget though.

EDIT: Never mind I've found it, perhaps I'll just stump up the extra and go for that. Would a Corsair RM650 PSU be good enough for the 7800XT?

650w should be fine but if your buying new then go for a 750w unit.
