I'm in the States for a business trip these days and I thought i'd take advantage of the relative cheapness of things here by getting mysef a new graphics card. What's the current best deal in terms of frames per penny? My current card is a 3850 and I game at 1280x1024.

Thanks mate, but I asked which card is the best bang for the buck right now, not how much I should pay for it - I know what the exchange rate is too :)

I'm leaning towards the 4850 - anyone think I could do better?

you should be able to get yourself a 4870 1gb model from the states for less than £100 infact the 4890 can probably be had for around that price. you could go extreme and get a 5870 though and save yourself £60 or so on uk price ;)

if your there for a while there is a very big online retailer which sells things much bellow rrp. even though its not in direct competition wih ocuk as they dont ship to england i dont think i can say who they are but its *something* egg ;)

Yeah, I did think about ordering online to have it delivered to my hotel, but I didn't book the place until 3 days before I left the UK so I thought I'd leave it. Went to a big retail outlet in a local mall, but the prices were ridiculous in it - 4870 was $160! I'll have a couple of hours in NY tomorrow before I have to catch a train to the airport so I'll try again there. Anyone know any cheap electronics stores near Penn Station that you can name without getting banned from the forums? :p
