Or i hope so, will be cool to play games that look almost real life! :p

I'm just going on like, people who nowadays have an ATI 9800, they've only recently just started to *have* to upgrade to get games working (e.g. the games won't even run on low)... And if my X800 didn't die, I'd still be running most of my games at at least medium graphics, and that's 2 years old now. But like you say, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the same case for the 8800... :)

Like me. I'm still on a 9800pro, and although I am having problems running more modern games, I can still play Farcry, HL2 and Sims 2 (yay!) on high settings. It all depends on whether you can cope with playing a FPS at 30fps, or whether you just have to play it at 100fps because that's "the way its meant to be played".

I have got quite used to 30 (or less) fps , so don't find it a major problem.
