Hi Guys, looking for some advice on fans:

I am currently using 3 x 120mm Coolermaster standard black case fans (2 intake, 1 exhaust) - they are quiet (which is important) and have what I presume to be average / fair airflow.

However I want to upgrade them, so which fans do I choose. I want it quiet but also good airflow. I have looked at the Noctua and Corsair fans (I have a Noctua CPU Cooler) but cant decide - any opinions or other recommended fans?

These are supposed to be pretty good.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Noiseblocker Multiframe S-Series M12-S1 Fan - 120mm £15.98
Total : £18.96 (includes shipping : £2.48).

For a bit less you could get these:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Enermax T.B.Silence UCTB12 120mm Fan £6.98
Total : £10.90 (includes shipping : £3.26).

I have two in my 350D and at 900RPM on full 12V they are essentially inaudible. The airflow isn't insane or anything but they definitely do the job.

Thanks Guys, I will look for some reviews on these :)

You are just going to have to buy a few and experiment everyone has a different idea of what the best is

personally I like bitfenix spectre pro fans right now, they look good, they are pretty silent, they shift a decent amount of air and are not too expensive. LED versions look sweet as, Non LED versions still look dang good

I wouldn't reccomend the spectre pro fans.

I have had a few of them and the 120mm versions are pretty crap for shifting any air and the 140mm are so noisy, and not even air movement noise. They made a horrible grinding noise intermittently and this was on 3 different fans.

How are you controlling the fans op? Do you have a fan controller or are you connecting them straight to the motherboard?

I use the standard BitFenix Spectre fans. They're pretty decent. I did have 2 140mm ones on the side panel but had to remove the top one cause I couldn't get the panel back on when I installed my H80i CPU cooler so now I just have 1 on the panel and 1 on the front of the case

From experience, I preach about the Corsair SP and AF fans... They just work. SP's are brilliant in restricted places, such as rads or vents with a lot of resistamce (they're also brilliant as front intakes when theres a HDD cage directly in front. The AF's also shift a huge amount of air while remaining quiet :) and the interchangeable colour rings are a nice touch when you have a colour schemed rig :)

BeQuiet Silentwings 2 , if you can find them for a good price are by far the best case fans available if you like silence.

I've used all the fans listed above and none come close. They have zero or minimal bearing noise, decent airflow and are are much quieter at the same rpm than all other fans.

It all depends what you want, are they just for airflow in an unrestricted space? Radiators?

I've got a few of the Corsair fans (SP120's, AF140 and AF120) and cant fault them.
