Best channel for Wifi

I used "1" but the connection couldn't be detected most of the time, now I'm using "6" and it seems the connection is more stable. What's the most common channel that you guys are using?

Most common isn't necessarily the best one to use. You'd be best finding if any other wireless networks are in range and choosing a different as possible channel to them. For example, a guy at the end of the close uses 1, and I use 11.
