Built a new system and spent way too much so now skint. my lovely blue/white keyboard is really bad on ghosting for gaming. please help me choose a cheap and cheerful keyboard but still good for gaming.

Thanks

+1 for the x4 ... although they are not made anymore. The corsair K30 is a nice board, has macros, built well and types as good as rubber domes can! Has a nice red glow too.

I'd just go for the Sidewinder mate, I used to have one and it's a brilliant keyboard. Never used the macro keys though. If you can i'd save for a mechanical if it was me though.

The sidewinder x4 is really expensive for secondhand. Luckily I managed to order a steelseries apex raw for less £24 hehe so I'm quite happy. Read a lot of reviews on it so hope it's great

Yeah I saw that deal actually, didn't realise the X4 had been discontinued (one of the issues with good gaming gear is that it becomes way overpriced after because of people who've gotten attached to them (e.g. MX518's, G9's now Sidewinder X4's evidently). The Apex is probably one of the best membrane keyboards and the Raw is t all intents and purposes just as good. A little bulky but if that's not an issue you should be happy with it.

Just received it and looks like a great keyboard. HOWEVER, I wouldnt be rushing out to buy another.

Overall, its quite a sturdy built and well designed. The light intensity is great without too distracting on low light conditions. I liked how the buttons have a contour between rows and therefore easy to know where you are going.

Now the bad bits. The buttons feel very light and very basic. I feel that the domes are cheaply made and overall not great. It is great for fast typing but I have yet to test for gaming.

But still a great keyboard for the price I've paid ;)
