Right im speccing up a PC for my sister and have everything chosen except a graphics card but not really sure on what to get. Have set a budget of around £50 (less if possible) im to used to speccing high end ones and came to pick a gfx card and had no idea what to pick :P

Yes, what are the uses for the PC and what is the spec list that you made up currently? I assume if its something simple for movies, then it would be quite easy to recommend a cheap graphics card.

well atm is one of the asus barebones skt 775 a E5200 2Gb Ram it will generally be used for movies but occasionally some very light gaming nothing intensive by anymeans i think there was a 5700 in her old machine and that ran everything she needed ok

I honestly don't know - one usually tends to see benchmarks of slightly higher spec cards! Though the already pitiful 32 stream processors of the 9500 GT are halved in number to 16 for the 9400. Might still be alright for really light gaming though.

You may be better off trying to find a higher specced card from second hand - one from previous generations. An 8600 GT or something.

ye im tempted to put my old 6800gs in it but i was planning on using that for a project in a few months. will probably just flip a coin to decide :P

4650 is available at that price and packs some decent midrange punch. If you want to spend less, then you're looking something like 4550, 9400 or 9500, but I wouldn't touch the 9400 personally if games might come into it.

Your 6800 would probably be better than a 9400! A 4650 would be your best bet if you could get it for £50 to be honest. Nice little card.
