Best client setup for a P4 with HT

Hey guys,

Following on from my free folding thread someone has donated a P4 3.2Ghz with HT and I was wondering what was the best client/clients to run on it as I am unfamiliar with HT technology?

You just need the standard client. The SMP one won't run without a proper dual core chip. Don't expect mega points. I get around 100ppd out of my 3ghz P4s.

not really worth it in my opinion as a dedicated cruncher, if you use it for web browsing ect but other wise the electricity adds up

I remember when getting my hands on a 3.2 P4 would have been brilliant. Sadly, compared to the newer stuff these days, it's a small step up from wasting electricity. Work out how much you'd spend on electricity per month running the P4 and donate it to charity. That's what I'd do.

However, in answer to your question, I would run two standard clients on the P4.

edit - scrap the two, just run the one and disable hyperthreading. Uses much less power for tiny performance hit.
