Best compact camera?

I'm looking for a new camera to replace my old M603 and after toying with the idea to get a 400D I've decided to stick with another compact for various reasons.
What seems to be the best on the market at the moment? I've currently been looking at the Powershot G7 or the Sony T50

Personally I would get the G7.

Actually, the Canon A640 seems to get pretty good reviews as well. Not as feature rich as the G7 (it is the flagship) but image quality wise they are the same all things considered.

Got the G7 myself - fantastic camera. will upload some sample shots over the next couple of days.
