Hello All

as the title says, and would be grateful for any advice....

i have 3 monitors
Monitor 1 is HD with HDMI (+ VGA) input (Samsung sync-master (from COuk Black Friday sale))
Monitor 2 is HD with HDMI (+ VGA) input (small LG TV)
Monitor 3 is 1440 x 900 with DVI (+ VGA) input (old Dell UltraSharp)

i have 2 GPU's
1 is onboard with VGA only (not a good GPU)...
2 is Sapphire (original reference design) HD6950 with 2 x DVI and 2 x DisplayPort (i don't know if they are mini or full size)

Currently Monitors powered with:
Monitor 1 with the onboard VGA (dont want to do this, want HDMI)
Monotor 2 with DVI to HDMI from 6950
Monitor 3 with DIV to DVI from 6950

question 1 = could i power all 3 monitors with the 6950?
question 2 = would it be better to power monitor 1 and 2 with DisplayPort to HDMI (and could i then use the remaining DVI port to power monitor 3)
question 3 = if question 2 == true? what cables/converters will i need?

Sorry for the confusion, but as you can see, i am confused too....
basically i am looking for the best picture quality option....

Really grateful for any advice!

Jon

1. You certainly could power them, but it depends what else you may want to do with them. I think it may struggle with an eyefinity type setup though.

2. Personally i would say yes, because its newer, and i just like DP, however im not sure if you would notice much of a difference. Im sure someone else may be able to answer this better than me. Or buy one cable and judge for youself.

3. DP to Hdmi adapter

However if you have a hdmi port why not just use a hdmi to hdmi, and skip an adapter?

Edit:forgot to mention, you may have to daisy chain the third monitor, which im not sure you can do with those monitors. Need some verification on this though.
