Hi, i will be using my HDTV to play games on my PC and won't be able to use a mouse & keyboard on the sofa!
What's the best controller and most accurate for playing FPS's and one with the most buttons (still wanna be playing RPG's if poss!)
Will an xbox 360 or PS3 controller (if it has usb support) do and which one would be better? (i have no experience with consoles)

Do such controllers exist that have a rollerball/trackball that some mice have?
Now that would be perfect for precision aiming!
I have a nasty feeling i'd never be able to get used to not having my beloved mouse & keyboard, practice makes perfect i suppose!
Thanks

I have the Xbox 360 Wireless controller with the receiver for use on my pc, it's probably the best I've ever had, it's extremely comfortable, plenty of buttons and as responsive as a wired controller...until the batterys run out but I get about 40 hours life from mine.

The best thing for FPS is a keyboard/mouse.

Get yourself a nice large, solid mouse mat, and either stick it on a seat next to you, or the arm of the sofa.

I played through most of CoD4 over Xmas sat on a sofa, with the mouse on the arm of the sofa :)

I use the wireless xb360 pad with my PC as well, its a really nice pad but my hands start to ache after an hour or so.

I only play games like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 4 with it tho, i have never been able to play FPS games with one. I think you should be prepared to get owned pretty bad if your going to play on line :D.

I'd imagine my mouse playing arm will ache really bad after an hour or 2 on the arm of the sofa but might give it a go!
Well i've almost completed bioshock and do wonder how hard that would be with a controller, quite inaccurate and frustrating i would have thought!

Unless you've got massively tall arms on the sofa, I actually find it more comfortable than at my desk at home/work - it's at *just* the right height, and supports the entirety of my arm, rather than just the wrist!

i dont like FPS on cosoles because of the fact you have to use a controller, just as long as you use WASD and not the arrow buttons ;)

I completed Bioshock with both mouse/kb, and a wired 360 pad. I thought it was much more enjoyable on the pad tbh, it felt far more suited to a joypad. The missus also played it through on pad after never using one with a FPS before and loved it. Some games don't play well at all on joypad though, especially if they're fast action.

^One of the reasons for that could be due to the 'laggy' mouse in Bioshock. On a pad you probably don't notice it (obviously), but it makes the mousing feel a bit suspect.

I thought maybe I was imagining it, but others have reported the same, and when I played CoD4 after completing BS, the mouse felt noticeably more responsive.
