Best Convertible Ultrabook

when you say convertible do you mean the ones which swivel to turn into a tablet (like the yoga, xps 12)

I used to have the xps 12 and hated it. They are not very good at being either an ultrabook or a tablet. Kinda like the phablets, they seem a good idea but they are too big to be a phone, and too small to be a tablet.

My advice would be to buy a seperate tablet and ultrabook (or perhaps you would be happy with something like a surface and touch pad but that's not 13")

HP do an ultrabook where the screen physically pulls off to make a tablet. No idea if it's any good.

Yeah the tablet and laptop combos.

I currently do have an Asus Transformer TF700 and Samsung Series 9 laptop, but want it all in one. I do like the sound of the Samsung Windows Android one.

Shame it has to be "13, as otherwise I'd say a Surface Pro 2 with a Type Cover.

I can't fault my Surface Pro, and would snap up a 2 in a heartbeat for the better battery life and 2nd kickstand position.

With my main main focus being to work with Ultrabook design, integration and demo at work, I would suggest the Dell XPS 12.

Conclusion of verdict:

Lenovo Yoga: 2nd best, however keys not protected when in tablet form.
Asus TaiChai: Main screen not touch screen, powers two screens reduces battery.
Sony Duo 13: Screen not ajustable, easily scratched screen as does not close in on itself.
Lenovo Twist: Business laptop, low res.
Panasonic ToughBook: Not required in consumer market.
Toshiba U820t: Screen easily scratched as does not close in on itself.

There's a reason the dell outlet has pages upon pages of returned xps 12s you know. I suggest anyone thinking of spending that amount of money start reading up on varoius forums.

Mine was returned

Issues

Screen rotation
Wifi
Fan noise (on a haswell?)

Not to mention it's too heavy and bulky to be a tablet IMHO

Surely you tried to troubleshoot it first rather then just RMA it?

All fixed from a BIOS update. Current batch has no issues.

can't fix the weight with a bios update. Nah, in all honesty the casing was pretty well scratched  Tried getting it out with a cloth but it was too far gone. Dell were really good to be honest.

Good job they fixed all the issues though
