Best Cooler for 7800gtx?

Think someone was saying a couple of weeks but i may be entirely wrong.

But yuo should really wait for it because its going to be an awesome cooler.
 
Have you tried downloading and using Rivatuner? This program has the option of setting fan speed at different levels according to the application you are running e,g, 2d apps low silent fan speed, low level 3d apps medium fan speed and games etc high fan speed.

My gt was always at full speed and noisy until I used Rivatuner, now it only gets loud during a game but obviously I do not hear it with the sound of the game! I would recommend you try it before spending on another cooler.
 
tried rivatuner, didnt make much of a difference tbh. Any suggestions for coolers currently on the market? Ive only seen a arctic cooling one so far, very very tempted to get that instead of waiting as the noise level from the stock one is driving me nuts
 
Will the VF900 make much of a difference over the 700? I ask because on my GT my overclock is not determined by the max temp of the GPU which only reaches about 55C

If the 900 takes say 5 degrees of it is it really going to increase said overclock (490/1180)?

IMO I don't think so, so why not go for the VF700-CU now and experience silence sooner rather than later..... ;)
 
great, just ordered the vf-700 (from a competitor though as i already had an order with them, and just added it on thus saving me £8 in shipping)

You'll enjoy it :)

Even at 12v, it's still really quiet and has no whine at all. What you can mostly hear is the air rusing through the fins on the heatsink :) Also dropped my temperatures by a load even at 5v :)
