Hi there,

Running the build in my sig in a dated xblade case, which has 1 120mm large fan in the front pulling air in (can't really move that one, really hard to get to), one side panel fan and two spaces for fans at the back of which one is occupied. I have 2 PWM Arctic Cooling F8 80mm fans on order and 2 non-PWM fans of the same spec. Now, my PSU is also at the top of the case and the fan is going into the case, though I can't tell if it's sucking air out of the case or pushing it in.

I'm not sure about which way to orientate the 3 fans on the side, and 2 on the rear respectively. I heard that it's better to have more air going IN than coming OUT, making positive pressure helping to lower dust build up. I don't know if this is true, but does anyone know what configuration would be best for cooling? 2 pushing in at the back, one pulling out at the side or what?

Cheers

Sorry think I wrote it wrong/you misunderstood me. At the front of the case there is 1 large fan intake (unchangeable.) The side has 1 space for a 90mm fan either intake/exhaust, and 2 spaces at the rear for 90mm either intake/exhaust as well.

Leave the front one blowing in, Have the two rear ones blowing out. The PSU will almost certainly be blowing out.

As for the side one, I'd say experiment with it. Some cases like to have it blowing out, others in, and some it just breaks the air flow.

Hmm, that's pretty much what it has been, apart from the side one has been intake only. I'll have to experiment with that, will I notice a massive temperature difference?
