So I'm going to be upgrading to a 6700k soon and am just asking what type of AIO will fit into my case, I have 2 top vents that offer 140mm fan mounts however according to Fractal' website this case only allows for a 240mm radiator to be fitted in the top? I'd have thought considering it has 2x140mm case holes it wouldn't struggle with a 280mm radiator if it was thin enough.

Why are you changing from the 212 you now have to a AIO that is really a CLC made by Asetek .. and known for being more expensive and way louder then good air coolers .. as well as not as dependable long term.

When a CLC goes bad it's the pump 99% of the time, and that means no cooling at all so system cannot be used until a new cooler is installed. No computer to use and major expense to replace the cooler.

Air coolers don't go bad. Only the fan can go bad, and even without a cooler fan most will still run at low load .. not to mention any fan can be used temporarily until a replacement arrives. System is usable and fans are not expensive

You could get a top tier air cooler and new front intake fans for same or less money and have same cooling ability without near as much noise. ;)

Agree with what doyll has posted. I looked at most of the AIO's and decided that a R1 Ultimate will do a much better, quieter job at keeping my 6700k cool. It will be more reliable and I know for sure that it well never leak coolant.
Regardless of how much better that AIO's could become I still read horror stories of leakage and I'm not that impressed at how that is resolved.

The only down side to me about air cooling is the size of the units, but I'm kinda OK with that now.

I managed to shoehorn an H110 (280mm) into my R4. You can fit it down by the front of the case if you remove the drive cage (SSD's only so didn't need it) Has been working perfectly since I installed it 2 years ago.

I had a R4 which I had a D14 air cooler in. the case was great, the cooler was great, all was well.

I then moved to a Define S which I installed a custom water system in, with a 30mm 280 in front and a 30mm 280 at top. Technically, the case doesn't support that at top, and it was DAMN close clearing the ram for sure. Also, I couldn't use the proper fan screw mounts for the radiators because they just dont fit there

Point is, I'm sure you could fit the rad there if your willing to drill a hole or two. 50% chance you could bodge the rad up there without drilling holes (like I did with the define s, though I only used 5 of 8 screws), maybe the fans will have to be external though, but dont bother if you want an easy install, just install equipment that fits in your case.

Just because you can get 2x 140mm fans up there, doesn't mean they are spaced out to accommodate a 280 radiator, and it defiantly doesn't mean there is room for an internal radiator AND internal fan in that space.
