Hi guys!

I today had some surprise news that a cheque would be coming my way from a drum kit which I sold aaaages ago which I forgot aboot!

Anyhow I've been thinking of upgrading to Corei7 for a while now but as I run custom watercooling I would need to factor in a decent waterblock for the beast! I am not however, up to date with the fast moving world of watercooling since purchasing my E8400.

What is the best block in terms of performance/price ratio in your opinions?

I remember the Swiftech Apoogee GTZ was highly regarded back in the LGA775 days but I currently use a XSPC Delta V3 on my E8400 to keep it below 50 under stress (4.40Ghz).

Cheers in advance!

Tom

Heatkiller 3 CU is considered the best block around atm, there is also the new Swiftech Apogee XT as well which is supposed to be decent.

I'm using the Heatkiller on my i920, and @ 4GHz running LinX my temps dont exceed 60c, I've got my CPU and GPU (GTX280) in the same loop, using a Laing DDC and an Aqua Computer triple rad..

The best one would be the Arctic Cooling Freezer Extreme. For a decent price, it outperforms other coolers and the fans are known to be dead silent.

Yer Im not keen on grabbing another EK Supreme tbh. It's a serious flow killer and I already had one which broke and eventually fried one of my Core2s back in the day :(

So Heatkiller the best bet then?

I already have a XSPC Delta V3 - would simply grabbing a LGA1336 mounting plate and bracket just be a bit lame in the long run?

Obviously the pennies need to be saved atm!
