Best cpu for a A74ML-K ?

I've been asked to do a 30 second upgrade (replace CPU) for a little advent box with a Foxconn A74ML-K motherboard. and most if not all of the current overclockers cpu's are above 3.0 and aren't on the tested list for the mobo.

Looks like the support is for 95w CPU's and this may well fit the bill. Even if not explicitly supported, AM3 95w is supported and the multiplier is dictated by the processor not the board usually.

I'm glad it's not my PC though. The fan on the supplied heatsink ramps up quickly under load and is really whiny.

I can see from your sig. that you like silence, so do I. If your client wants it quieter, he could change the fan profile I suppose or get a better cooler.

Anyway, I'm glad it has worked.
