Liampope was replying to a comment I made about whether a quad core without hyperthreading would be faster than a dual with hyperthreading. The thread got a bit confused from there. No confusion about different processors if you read the thread again and work out who was responding to who.

Core i3/i5/i7 are a lot faster than any of AMD's offerings at running X3:Terran Conflict. The game engine is 7-8 years old and the developers are quite amateurish thus the engine is inefficient - even for its time.
Getting rid of the GTX xxx and replacing with a decent ATi/AMD graphics card will also boost performance. X3 isn't "optimized", thus Nvidia hardware runs slow compared to ATi.
