currently running a 4460 and get my bonus this month so looking to upgrade the cpu to something that will handle everything at mac for a bit.

O ly game at 1080 atm and running a gtx 1080 so cpu is the only thing really slowing it down.

Would a simple 4790k besthe best option or

7600k
7700k
Ryzen 1700

Dont really want to waste money if its not going to show a significant gains.

Currently play

Division
Ghost recon wildlands
World of warships
Warhammer total war

Thanks

4790k is what about £180 used

7700k is about £550

Ryzen 1700 about £550

Just gaming is ryzen or a 7700k going to produce more than £300+ worth of extra performance?

After a quick google to check facts and see if nothings changed, keeping existing OS requires existing Win10 retail. Can deactivate win 7/8 retail license to use on new machine but not upgrade it to 10.

Dnt need to reinstall win for new hardware

I rein
What if you need to reinstall it later?

Edit: It looks like the assistive technologies option asks no questions on a 7 retail upgrade to 10 on clean install new mobo even if key used before.

Ahem, carry on.
i re installed windows on wed at steam link screwed it up so no issues reinstalling anyway.

I totaly changed mobo cpu and ram about 6 months ago and didnt have to reinstall then. Not on a 7 upgrade to 10 either
