Hi All,
I currently have a Ryzen 3700x with a RTX 3070 Ti.

I am looking to upgrade in a years time or maybe sooner. What is the current best combo of CPU and GPU for a resolution of 3440 x 1440P?

In a years time we should have had the latest gen CPU's from AMD & Intel and maybe the 5000 series from Nvidia that might change GPU prices. If your waiting that long I would wait until they are all released and price drops for previous gens should have happened.

If you're looking to make the upgrades in a years time there's no point in window shopping now, there will be totally new hardware out by then and even if there wasn't prices would look very different.

You need to look when you're ready to buy.

In a year, who knows, but right now, if you have a budget of around 2K then the easy option would be something like:
- 5700X3D & 4070 Ti Super (keep motherboard and everything else, expect to pay £1K)

The less price conscious option:
- 7800X3D & 4080 Super (i.e. nearly a new PC that'll eat your whole budget)

Thanks that was useful. Do you have a view of the Radeon 7900XT? I do not know much about radeon cards.

Similar to 4070 Ti Super unless you enable ray tracing and decent value (relatively) if you get one around £600.

4080 Super is faster, though the difference is not huge.

As you helped me a load with my build Tetras, on this very exact subject I'm guessing I'm good with my new build and this monitor size? I'm getting one delivered tomorrow so my hope is I should be fine? (Apologies for the slight hijack!)

Shout out to Tetras from me as well. (Should've took your advice and went for the 5600X)
Can't believe he pushed me towards the GT1030 instead of 6700xt though.

:p

1440p? Sure, no problem for a 4080.

There's no universe I recommend a GT 1030  *me waits for someone to dig up a post from 2017

I think I said non-X, I recommend the X very rarely.
