Hi guys. Building a new system and was wondering if i could get some recommendations on the absolute best cpu, gpu, and mobo combination i could get for £500.

Thats my max budget for those components. The rest i can sort myself but as the main components, i don't want to screw up.

I'm mainly looking to play games like heavily modded Skyrim, (Oblivion and morrowind too), Battlefield 3, Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, GTA IV (and 5 when released), Crysis Series, AC series and DCUO, all at the highest settings my budget can get me.

As a beginner, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Xfire/SLi capable mobo. i7 CPU and an awesome cooler to overclock it. Although in truth with the new socket Haswell (1150) due next month you really should wait. Concentrate on the other parts now and worry about the CPU and mobo once the reviews are out for Haswell fella :)

I do apologise bud. To be fair I didn't take the thread too seriously as Haswell is due so soon.......

I'd try and shoot for that if you had to buy now. This 7870 has the Tahiti core so is very closely related to the more expensive 7950. Give her an overclock and you are trading blows with a stock 7950 :D
