Best CPU upgrade for me???

I have just upgraded my graphics card to the AGP X1950 Pro but I'm finding that my CPU is still having quite a big drag effect on my gaming!! (F.E.A.R and Rainbow Six: Vegas mainly)

Can anyone point me in the right direction to the best value for money CPU that will fit on my existing motherboard??

Please see my sig. for my specs... (S939 mobo btw)

Thanks for any advice, I really cant afford a mobo etc upgrade (was hoping just the gfx card would be enough!!!)

Socket 939, yes. But dual core by itself won't speed up FEAR or Rainbow Six.

Not the fps rate in those games, unless you have lots of background tasks.

look fo a cheap opty 144 and clock it to 2.8ghz thats should see you a nice boost.
