Best custom R9 290

What is the best R9 290 non reference design card?

The PCS+ has a better cooler? Temps or noise? or both I suppose?

I have the 290 tri-x and the PCS+ and i would say for both temps and noise the PCS+ is better.

I haven't clocked either of them yet as have no need, if and when i start to see any performance issues then i will start to push them up.

I had a Gigabyte Windforce OC, a PCS+ and now owns a Vapor-X OC. For me the Vapor-X wins hands down.
In terms of performances, cooling and silence it is by far the best combination you can get when going for a custom 290.

I have the PCS+, its a great card, the cooler is very good, but if your Tri-X is serving you well i would stick with that, i don't know which one of the two is better, but the Tri-X gets excellent feedback.

Yeah wasn't going to replace the tri-x now as mine seems to be quite a good clocker and highest I have got it to is 67 degrees when benching so runs very cool as well.

Just never realised that the Powercolor was comparable to the Tri-x

The coolers are similar, a massive 2.5 Slot 3 fan beast, it does the job well

As both card's coolers and PCB's are similar I would buy the Powercolor due to the better feedback about their RMA.

I have a tri x its fantastic so quiet at full load overclocks brilliantly I 100% recommend

2- XFX Double Dissipation

Both seem to get great reviews.

edit: Oh, and they both have a 3 year warranty.

i know XFX had some bad product in the past, but the XFX double dissipation is one of the best R9 290x or 290 out there, on temps, noise, stability and esthetics

i dont know about warranty if that what you were refering to, my vote was for other consideration as stated above.
