Best data recovery software?

I'm considering buying GetDataBack NTFS or File Scavenger to recover files from a corrupt Windows XP partition/disk.

Which product do you think I should go for? Perhaps I can do better?

have the partition tables been corrupted?

try using testdisk first, it can simply rebuild them, meaning zero data loss

takes about 30 seconds to complete

if they're really screwed though, i can vouch for File Scavenger

I can vouch for the fact the GetDataBack for NFTS is worth the money. Can't comment on File scavenger as I have never used it.
