Been looking at the best options for the cheapest upgrade for the moment.
for the rig that I have.

I have decided to make the most of what I have and buy a new rig end of this year...

In the mean time I want to utilize my E6600 Intel Duo processor and unleash the bottle neck of DDR2 that the Asus P5Q-pro uses...by upgrading to a DDR3 board...

and in this way the my ATI 5830 GFX and HD's will also work faster as well

Yes I know it is not the best processor and GFX in the world but I don't have enough money to upgrade to the i5 2500 & board and memory that I want at the moment... also there is no point in buying a better GFX now just for it be outclassed by the i5 when I buy it later this year..

I have just swapped to 64bit Win 7 from 32 bit and got to say this has made a huge inprovement....

One of the reasons for doing it this way is the memory is at a lowish price so thought I could get 8GB now of DDR3 and know that I can put it in the my new rig at the end of the year....by buying DDR2 at the moment to upgrade it is over priced and also redundant when I upgrade..

I have been looking at the Quad range of cpu's that fit my board as this was my first choice but they all seem to be going for mega money....several have been listed fo some £300-400 ......also they later DDR3 boards are more based towards the 64 bits system I believe all correct me if I am wrong....

Thanks for the advice though....

Well some interesting facts and overclocking my board is what I want to do. The last time I did any over clocking it was get this: A Celeron 300 ghz to 450ghz way way back...was epic at the time....

Ok guys on the lookout for a Q6600 or higher if any one has any for sale....
