best desktop pet

My niece wants a virtual pet on her pc (windows xp), which is the best with the most features?

Dont mind paying but no spy or ad ware please.

Catz & Dogz are probably your best option. Although Neko Cat and some desktop little desktop buddy's might be alright.
Catz & Dogz are perhaps the better products out there from memory.

My desktop "pets" tend to be empty wine + pint glasses... not sure if they're suitable, though!
