Hi, currently I'm just using a chro0mcast and kodi on my PC. I was looking at a raspberry pi2 or Firer stick to ruhn XBMC/KODI.

Which would be the best product? All help really appreciated. Cheers.

I have both the Raspberry Pi 2 and a Fire Stick. Both run Kodi/XBMC fine, no issues with either.

Main advantage of the Fire Stick is the built in wifi and included remote (there is also an app which is good)

The Raspberry Pi 2 is slightly quicker and of course has ethernet and built in usb ports for playing local media. But Kodi/XBMC is very similar on both. Just have to decide if you want the built in wifi or ethernet and usb ports.

Thanks for the reply. Currently the wifi I have in my house is terrible and the router is ancient too. USB I haven't thought too much about as my blu ray and tv's have ports. But I can see the advantage with the pi.

HHhhhmm tough decision.

Pi also has HDMI-CEC built in which is good if your TV supports it. I have 2x pi2s and love them to bits so easy to setup and never skip a beat.

Amazon FireTV.

I've used a Pi, Chromecast, full on Windows Media PC and an openELEC Media PC, and the FireTV is by far the most reliable and neatest solution.

The wired Ethernet connection is also much better for HD content than relying in WiFi.

I was looking at Android tv i was looking to replace one of our tv's in our bedroom with a smart tv. We have WDLIVE TV. But it lags and is quite slow so was thinking getting another tv without the smart features or 3D and getting one of them android boxes

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I think I'll go for the PI.

How much is the PI please and where is best place to get one thanks

It's probably what you mean but if I were you I'd definitely go for the Pi2 - I had OpenElec on the first Pi and the UI was painfully slow - the Pi2 should be loads better! (although playback was fine and so if you use a smartphone app such as Yatse rather than browsing on screen, the first Pi will probably do the job OK!)

Has anybody seen these. They look really good and all reviews look really good

Minix Neo X8-H Quad Core Android Smart TV box 2GB RAM - 16GB ROM - Full DD/DTS

Little jumps in the playback. Normally most visible during high motion. Easy to wrongly assume it's an issue with the motion processors.

Also the whole playback could be slightly off speed.

What does your TV suggest it's playing back at? Most say 60p, 24p etc..
