Best double din unit for around £400

halfrauds have a double din unit with sat nav, but it aint top of the range by any means, but it's just in budget i believe

That's a single DIN with extending screen...
Found the Pioneer AVIC-F500BT for £449, but most nav units are around the £600-£700 mark. Plenty of double din units out there, just chuck 'double din' into Google. Just depends what sort of features you're looking for and what your budget is, really.

The F500BT is not really replacing the Ford unit, it's designed to be used along with it.
I think you'll struggle to get anything decent Sat Nav wise for £400.

It doesn't mount in the DIN cage. You leave your standard radio in the car and have it as an external unit as shown down the page here: http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/flash/products/news_Navgate.html.
If you want the built-in unit then you need the AVIC-F700BT but that's £700 worth!

Pioneer Avic-D3 can be had for £600 new or lots cheaper through the famous auction site. £400ish
