Best driver for x1950pro ?

I've just read the "Catalyst 7.10" thread and had a chuckle at some of the drama going on there Anyway, it got me thinking : I've been on Nvidia for a while and just loaded the 7.9 CCC for my pretty new ATI x1950pro. Is that necessarly the best driver for such an aged card or would I be better stepping back in time a little to an earlier version?

I always use the latest ones unless there's a problem with the driver within a specific game I play. There's never a massive FPS increase inbetween driver revisions, not in my experience anyway.

there was aproblem with 7.8' and 7.9's on x1950pros but i think it was only the agp version ??? anyway people were advised to stay with 7.7 for time being.

yeah was just the agp cards.

only reason to move from 7.7 are any fixes for recently released games, think they've done some work for bioshock and quake wars.

I'm still on 6.12 due to none of the newer ones CCC allowing me to use hotkeys to increase/decrease gamme whilst in-game.
