Hi all,

Got my new ATI X1900XT 512 coming today and I'd like to know from current owners which CCC driver version is the best, I won't be overclocking too mad as I think with the rest of my set-up (in sig) it will go well anyways!!!!

Just a quick pointer to the most stable CCC's at the min!!

many thanks ;)

It allows HDR and AA at the same time in Oblivion.

Personally I use the Omega 6.3s as they're the latest driver that works with ATITool Properly

'Scuse my ignorance, but do you need to have Catalyst Control Centre (or Omega) installed?

Yesterday I tried uninstalling the CCC only and left the drivers intact, and then used atitool for over/underclocking, fan control and setting AA & AF if need be (though most games now have in-game controls for this)

CCC is just an ugly resource hog in my (ugly) opinion. But what am I missing out on for not having it running? Apart from multiple instances of CLI.exe clogging up my processes ;)

when they bring out 6.8 the chuck patch will be included

This from where. :)

You don't need CCC, just do what your doing by using just the drivers and ATi Tray Tools for all your AA/AF settings if you don't want all the .NET, CCC stuff, theres no differance so just use what you prefer. :)

I'm not a big fan of CCC, you can either use ATI Tools, or ATI Tray Tool instead, or if you're a fan of the old style control panel you can use that too.

Good to hear - I was just wondering if I lost out on any performance boosters and suchlike, beyond the rubbishy (compared to atitool) ATI Overdrive.

How do I enable the old style control panel - I don't get any ATI options in the Display Properties Advanced section? I know the Omega drivers use that.

6.7's cause a lot of issue's with dual screen setups.

Google will soon tell ya that, if your not using a dual screen setup their good.

Problem with dual screen is it seems to forget the fact you have a second screen during re-boots, so when you get back into windows you have to re-enable the second screen.

Using 6.6's with no big issues.

waiting on the 6.8 :(

Well I'm pleased to say my card arrived, all working and heavy as ****?? lol popped home and installed it and set up drivers, only managed to play CSS for 5 mins at full res all settings high an didn't go below 85fps :D :D :D

Will be trying COD2 and BF2 later and see what its performs like on 3Dmark06 stock then push it a bit....

Last place I want to be now is back at work.......boohoo!!
