Best drivers for xbox 360 pad on pc?

Hi just hoping someone with more knowledge can help me with something , i should be getting a wired xbox 360 pad through the post any day now and i would like to know which drivers to install?

iv searched about and got some likes to the ms website but when i d/l the drivers some are 7mb some are 18mb etc and when i look at the file the version looks the same? i dont understand which file i should install

or should i not install any drivers at all?

im using windows xp 32bit

just wanting the pad to respond to games without having to set them up etc
 
Xbox controllers should not require any additional drivers to work with Windows.

You should be able to plug it in and away you go (Windows may find it's own drivers for it if it needs them).
 
It's literally plug & play with Windows 7.

Not sure about XP though. Just plug it in and see if it gets recognised and just let the "Add new hardware wizard" automatically get drivers from Windows Update.
 
ok thnx guys , it didnt arrive today tho but when it does ill try what u said and if i have any trouble ill come back
